6 Reasons Why You Need Family Photos in 2022.
As I look back on 2021, I can honestly say there are some mixed emotions. Owning a Newcastle Photography business has had its challenges this year, and most people I know have been stressed to their eyeballs in one way or another. However, I have been so lucky to have met so many incredible people this year, which has fuelled my passion for photography even more. As the world begins to open back up again, 2022 is looking to be busier than ever! So why is it so important to organise a family photoshoot in 2022?
1. Covid Sucks
If the past few years have taught us anything, it's that time with our loved ones can be rare and precious. Taking the time to capture memories is never wasted time, and something you'll always be thankful for later.
2. Time Flies
Have you or someone you know had a baby recently? If you don't see them again until a month later, they can change dramatically in that time! Kids grow up so fast, almost before your eyes. I swear I had a two-year-old yesterday, now look at him.
3. Mum Misses Out
Not to generalise here, but often Mums are the ones taking the photos and never in them. Or if they happen to score a chance at a selfie with the family, it's blurry and the kids are often throwing food at each other. As a mother myself, it's so nice when someone offers to take photos for me; especially when I've brushed my hair and I'm not wearing track pants.
4. Great Gift Ideas
Stuck on what to get Nan or your Mum for her birthday? Family photos are always a winner, whether it's for a booked session or voucher for later on. Honestly, you can't go wrong and can never have too many photos.
5. Make It Fun
Family photos shouldn't automatically mean instant dread and groaning; they should be fun! Whether it be chasing the kids along the beach, exploring bush tracks, or simply making pizza at home. Sessions are designed around what you and your family like to do together. So no one is forced into cheesy smiles while being miserable. Candid and genuine moments with your loved ones.
6. Family Heirlooms
Do you remember flicking through old family albums when you were a child? I used to get so much enjoyment over laughing at my dad's tacky moustache, changing trends and moments passed. Family photography is something tangible to pass down to generations to come. Especially if you organise quality prints or an album.
So even though 2022 is sure to be a busy year, it's so important to take the time to make memories while we can. As a Newcastle Family Photographer, I know firsthand how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful location. So even if it's eating fish and chips at Nelson Bay at sunset, or 4WD along the Watagans with the family, there are fun memories to be made and timeless moments to be captured.
Photos are important, because time passes and nothing lasts. Don't leave your family photos at the bottom of the 'to-do' list for another year. 2022 is the time to make your memories last.
